John,

We know many members of our community are still reeling after the Supreme Court decision in U.S. vs Skrmetti last week – it's really hard to sit with the knowledge that these horrific bans will remain in place, and we hope you're finding the time, space, and support you need to process the news.

In that vein, we have two upcoming events to help folks understand and process the news – a Resilience Support Group specifically for families of trans youth, and a Post-Skrmetti Town Hall for trans folks, their families, and allies to understand the implications of the Skrmetti ruling and ways to support trans communities across the country after the ruling.

RSVP for our Resilience Support Group for families of trans youth on Thursday, June 26th, at 6pm ET. The virtual event is open to all ages, and the Zoom information will be emailed to RSVPs a few hours before the event. ([link removed])

We know parents of transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youth are feeling a lot of tough emotions right now – not only about Skrmetti but also the recent executive orders, policies, and bills affecting their kids. We're committed to providing a safe, welcoming space for these brave young folks and their families – so we're welcoming parents and caregivers of trans kids and young adults to gather in community to share fears, feelings, challenges, and hopes with each other. Facilitated by Campaign for Southern Equality's Kenni Cummings, this community space is for you to connect with other families like yours, process your feelings, and share your tips for navigating the post-Skrmetti reality. Click here to RSVP to this important resilience space. ([link removed])

Next week, we'll be hosting a virtual Post-Skrmetti Town Hall to help families and allies understand what the Skrmetti ruling does and doesn't do to trans youth healthcare access. Click here to RSVP to our Town Hall on Wednesday, July 2nd, at 6pm ET. ([link removed])

In the wake of the Skrmetti ruling, unfortunate disinformation has been circulated that the Supreme Court totally banned gender-affirming care for trans youth. That is simply not true. We're here to reassure families that care is still legal and accessible in half the country, as well as share updates from our legal partners as to how this ruling will impact the care landscape and different types of care bans across states. Facilitated by members of the Campaign for Southern Equality team, this virtual event will help our communities understand the state of healthcare access for trans youth, and ways to take action to support trans youth in the coming months and years.

Our Post-Skrmetti Town Hall is free, and welcome to all ages and identities. RSVP to this important event today, and we'll share the Zoom information plus a post-Town Hall readout with all RSVPs. ([link removed])

Please take care of yourselves right now – this is a tough moment, and there's no right or wrong way to process the news. Your community is here for you, we love you, and we will do everything we can to fight for your rights and equality.

Thanks for being on our team,
Campaign for Southern Equality
