John,
In a couple of days, my daughter, Cora, will turn 17. As we're looking at
colleges, one key factor that shapes that decision is where she'll be able
to access healthcare.
That's now a part of our calculus and our decision-making three years
after the Supreme Court denied our bodily autonomy and ripped away the
basic right to abortion care in America.
Since that cruel decision, we have witnessed devastating and deadly
consequences for patients across the nation.
Abortion bans are denying families basic medical care.
The Black maternal health crisis has worsened drastically.
Republicans’ attacks on our basic reproductive freedom are a risk to every
person who calls this country home and have disproportionately impacted
our Black, brown, immigrant, disabled, and LGBTQ+ communities.
But here’s what they didn’t count on: us.
This unjust and worsening status quo is not an inevitability. From the
halls of Congress to grassroots movements across the country, we’re
building the power to fight back.
We will not only fight to protect and defend reproductive care, but also
to advance an affirmative vision for a just America where abortion justice
is realized and everyone—no matter their zip code, income, or immigration
status—can access the care they need with dignity in their own community.
As Chair of the Reproductive Freedom Caucus, I’m standing shoulder to
shoulder with Alexandria, Ilhan, Rashida and our movement to champion
reproductive rights.

$3 or more today to help power our work and grow this
movement for reproductive freedom?

We know this fight won’t be won in a single moment or with a single bill —
it will take organizing, persistence, and collective action. We are in
this fight for the long haul.
In solidarity,
Ayanna
