We’ve got to focus on what we can control, and right now, that means
standing with the people who make government work.
In Maryland, we’re home to more than 260,000 federal workers. These are
folks who wake up every day and serve our country with dignity.
Now, they’re afraid of losing their jobs thanks to reckless decisions
coming from the White House that put political theater over people’s
livelihoods.
While the president is arbitrarily firing federal workers, we’re taking
action to help impacted public servants land on their feet.
We’re building partnerships to connect them with new career opportunities
in both the state and federal sectors as part of our effort to leave no
one behind. We
expanded the Maryland Public Servants Resource Website, streamlined the
process for displaced workers to be recruited and hired, and announced
recruiting initiatives and hiring fairs.
