Let’s be clear about one thing: The so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” that Donald Trump and his Republican enablers are pushing is anything but beautiful. It’s cruel and shameful.

Their plan would force kids to go hungry. It would leave seniors unable to put food on the table. It would throw eligible families off their health care because of ridiculous paperwork requirements. It would even force the state of Colorado to fire doctors and nurses and hire bureaucrats instead.

Despite what Republicans may believe, these devastating cuts aren’t just line items in a bill—they’ll affect your neighbors, your coworkers, your friends, your family. Seniors in rural areas. Young parents struggling with high costs. Children with disabilities.

These cuts affect all of us, not just a select few.

If hospitals lose billions in Medicaid funding, they’ll raise prices to stay afloat—or shut down entirely. And for the 85% of rural Colorado hospitals that already struggle to operate sustainably, these cuts could force them to close their doors for good.

So despite what Trump is calling it, there’s nothing “beautiful” about ripping health care away from millions of Americans. There’s nothing “beautiful” about kids going to school hungry. And there’s nothing "beautiful” about slashing taxes for billionaires while regular families are forced to struggle with higher costs.

Unlike my Republican colleagues, I won’t be afraid to tell the truth to the American people, stand up to Donald Trump, and do everything in my power to take down this bill. But more than ever before, I need to know that you’re with me.

So today, I’m asking for your grassroots support to help me keep fighting back against this dangerous, shameful legislation. With your help, we can show Republicans that Coloradans are united against their billionaire-backed scheme.
