Wade. Since its overturning, the attacks on women in this country have only gotten worse. Currently, 19 states have a total or partial abortion ban, with numerous other states instituting strict restrictions. This year: - In Georgia, Adriana Smith, a woman who was pronounced brain dead, was forced to stay on life support against her family’s wishes for months until her baby could be delivered. - House Republicans put forward a bill to repeal the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which protects people visiting and working in reproductive health clinics from violence. - The administration pardoned and dropped the charges against people who perpetrated violence against clinic employees and patients. - The Trump Administration stopped enforcing the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act that ensured women would get the care they needed in an emergency room. The attacks on women and our reproductive freedom will only continue if we don’t protect abortion nationwide. Even with Trump in the White House and the GOP in the majority in Congress, I won’t stop fighting for bodily autonomy.
