In just 12 days, the Israeli Air Force kneecapped Iran’s nuclear and military facilities, laid waste to numerous elements of the Islamic Regime’s instruments of tyranny and paved the way for American aircraft to devastate the final remaining Iranian nuclear sites. Here’s where things stand.
**12 Days of War**
As you know, on Saturday night, the U.S. struck the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, Natanz Enrichment Complex, and an “unspecified” nuclear site in Esfahan. Prior to the attack, Washington coordinated with Jerusalem, and, according to reports, requested the Israeli Air Force destroy specific Iranian surface-to-air missile systems in order to keep America’s pilots safe.
Israel did what America asked, and the U.S. effectively ended Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
In the days leading up to the American assault, Israel had hit well over 1,000 targets. Many of the regime’s most important military, nuclear and intelligence minds have been taken off the board.
Simply put: Over the course of 12 days of war, Iran went from posturing itself to be the most menacing entity in the region and the world’s leading sponsor of terror to a third-rate, third-world dictatorship desperately afraid of its own people.
Iran’s direct response to the American attack was lukewarm at best, firing projectiles at various U.S. facilities in the region but doing so in such a way as to almost guarantee they will be destroyed by missile defense systems. As such, President Trump did not feel the need to respond.
**Ceasefire**
After President Trump announced a forthcoming ceasefire, Israel completed its last strikes and operations (within the allotted time period). Never wanting to miss an opportunity to cause death and misery, the Regime in Iran fired repeated salvos of missiles at Israeli population centers, killing four people.
Once the ceasefire took effect, Iran fired a few more missiles and Israel responded by destroying an Iranian radar array. As of this writing, the ceasefire is holding.
As the dust begins to settle, we are beginning to learn the full damage done to the regime, not just in terms of targets attacked, but also in the context of the regime’s stability.
For example, Tehran has reversed course and now announced that they will remain members of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. In addition, there are reports that Iran’s Supreme Leader may have been compelled or pressured by some in the “Iranian elite” to accept the ceasefire.
Such a weakening of the Supreme Leader bodes well for those of us who hope to see regime change through domestic revolution.
**Looking Ahead**
It will take the regime years to rebuild the proxy-terrorist and nuclear programs that were once the two swords in the regime’s two hands. And make no mistake, they will try. As such, the U.S. must continue its campaign of maximum economic and diplomatic pressure against the Mullahs.
CUFI supports regime change through domestic revolution in Iran. The free world, led by Israel, has given the people of Iran an opportunity; they need to seize it.
Though Iran has been defanged, the war is not over. There remain 50 hostages in Gaza. Tragically, we receive near daily news that more of Israel’s sons and daughters have been killed or wounded fighting the remnants of Hamas. Likewise, in recent days, Israeli soldiers have recovered the remains of additional hostages. None of those who were found were thought to be alive. There remain at least 20 living hostages in Gaza.
That is why next week we will be in our nation’s capital for the 20th annual CUFI Washington Summit.
We are going to Washington to make clear that the U.S.-Israel relationship is vital and that antisemitism has no place in America. We are going to Capitol Hill to let our elected officials know that if you do not stand with Israel and against the Jew-haters you are failing your constituents. We are going to make our voices heard, to ensure our leaders know that America’s Christians stand with Israel. We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
The CUFI Action Fund Team
