A GOP senator brushed off concerns about their harsh budget cuts with a chilling response, saying: “Well, we’re all going to die.”

There’s nothing acceptable — or funny — about stripping health care and food assistance from our most vulnerable neighbors.

Check out Dwight's response:

'This morning, Senator Joni Ernst responded to Iowans worried about devastating Medicaid and SNAP cuts with the words: “Well, we all are going to die.”
Let me be clear: this is not leadership. This is cruelty.
Our neighbors — children, seniors, people with disabilities — rely on these lifelines to survive and live with dignity. Shrugging off their pain is shameful. We need leaders who fight for working families, not ones who casually dismiss their suffering. I’ll keep standing strong to protect Medicaid, SNAP, and the basic decency every American deserves.''

[LIKE DWIGHT'S RESPONSE >>] Troops deployed to LA will cost $134M, Pentagon predicts

Let's be clear: Dwight strongly opposes this reckless misuse of taxpayer dollars.

What Los Angeles needs right now is de-escalation, not military escalation. President Trump must immediately return control of the California National Guard to the state — this is about public safety, not political theater.

For the $134 million being spent on this stunt, we could feed over half of the 140,000 Pennsylvanians at risk of losing food assistance under the Republicans’ cruel #ReverseRobinHood budget.

Congressman Evans believes in putting people before politics—fighting hunger, protecting healthcare, and investing in communities, not militarizing them.

[READ MORE >>] Happy #PrideMonth Philadelphia! Here is a note from Dwight:

I wish a happy Pride Month to the LGBTQ community in Philadelphia & throughout the nation! As a longtime supporter of LGBTQ rights, I’ll continue advocating for legislation like the Equality Act, which I voted for when Democrats controlled the House agenda.

No matter who is in the White House, I will always continue to fight for equal rights.
