We all know that these laws waste money, make people and communities less safe, and make homelessness worse. A key step towards solving homelessness is beating back these harmful laws and refocusing on real solutions to homelessness, like housing and support.
That’s why we’re thrilled that, this Thursday, the Housing not Handcuffs Act will be introduced in Congress.
Support for the Housing not Handcuffs Act Grows!
Each day, more people are supporting the Housing not Handcuffs Act. Originally introduced by Congressmembers Jayapal (WA) and Frost (FL), Congressmembers Johnson (GA), Norton (DC), Ramirez (IL), Thanedar (MI), and Tlaib (MI) have also signed on to this vital bill.
In addition to Members of Congress, this bill is now supported by over 30 organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the National Low Income Housing Coalition, the National Coalition for the Homeless, and the Western Regional Advocacy Project. If you’d like to add your organization's name to this list, please email me at [email protected].
Join us or tune in on Thursday!
Join us in DC at 3:30 PM this Thursday for a rally and press conference to launch this bill! Make sure to follow us on social media to watch the live stream.
