John,
I’m encouraged by the energy Bernie and I felt and saw in Amarillo and
Fort Worth.
It’s an indication of our willingness to fight back against corruption in
the Oval Office, against illegal wars fought in our name, and against a
massive redistribution of wealth from working Americans to the richest and
most powerful.
But even more than that – Texans and Americans are organizing not just
against these things but also organizing for a brighter, better future for
all of us.
A world where we stand up for human rights everywhere. A world where we
end wars, not start them. One where we are no longer complicit in the
slaughter of innocent families and children and Gaza… where we no longer
fear plainclothes federal officers – without warrants or badges – sweeping
our fellow Americans off the streets without due process. One where we
recommit ourselves to the Constitution, and rewrite our immigration laws
to reflect our values and our aspirations.
Texans are organizing around a future where the extraordinary wealth
generated in this country is directed to those goals that will do the most
good for most Americans – ending the housing crisis by building millions
of new homes, focusing on the cures for cancers and investing in the
solutions to climate change now, before it’s too late.
It’s on us to help them turn their passion into action: registering to
vote, signing up to volunteer, and yes, turning out to vote.

The energy is palpable.
Let’s make the most of it,
