Today marks three years since the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The overturning of this landmark decision that protected abortion access as a constitutional right for decades had an immediate, devastating impact on millions of women, leaving them without access to reproductive health care.

And under the Republican trifecta, the attacks on reproductive health care have only gotten worse. While Medicaid funds for abortions have long been blocked, last month, Republicans passed a budget that included a ban on abortion providers like Planned Parenthood from receiving any Medicaid funds for services like birth control, cancer screenings and STI treatment. This change could force Planned Parenthood centers across the country to close down since they would not be reimbursed for these essential services.

Republicans are also coming after the abortion pill mifepristone, which is used in 63% of all abortions in the US. Right now, in states with abortion bans, women can rely on telehealth providers to prescribe mifepristone through the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. But recently, HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. asked the FDA to do a complete review based on junk science in an effort to further restrict access.

These attacks are not just wrong, they are deadly. I strongly believe that women should have the right to make their own health care decisions without interference from politicians.

That’s why I’m fighting every day to defend reproductive rights and protect access to care. But I can’t do it alone.
