Larger channel cats will be stocked in July

Start planning for some good catfish opportunities in July! Nebraska Game and Parks will be stocking channel cats of about 15 inches in length at select water bodies in early July. (Typically, they are stocked at around 10 inches.) Read more for locations and numbers of fish.

Millions of fish being stocked in Nebraska waters

June is a busy month in the fish production world, as millions of fish are stocked statewide.

Nebraska Game and Parks’ hatchery distribution trucks travel across the state, stocking fingerling walleye, sauger, bluegill, largemouth bass, yellow perch and wiper. If you spot one of these ‘rolling billboards’ in your area, capture a photo and tag us on social media!

Want to see what’s been stocked? Search our online stocking database for specific species, counties and waterbodies. Then take someone fishing this weekend.

Speaking of hatcheries, did you know Nebraska Game and Parks operates five fish hatcheries across the state? Together, they produce millions of fish annually, helping maintain and enhance Nebraska fish populations.

Take a closer look at our hatcheries online or via this video. Exciting work is underway, made possible in part through fishing permits purchased by anglers like you.
