The U.S. House of Representatives is back in session for another week of committee hearings, legislative votes, and floor activity. For more information on what I'm working on this week, be sure to follow me on social media. I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America— I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That’s what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service, Click below to follow me on social media. Mann.House.Gov The Week Ahead Yesterday, President Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. For years, previous Administrations have drawn red lines that have been crossed without consequence, attempted to appease the regime in Tehran, and made agreements with Ayatollahs that Iran would never uphold. President Trump has been clear—in no world can Iran obtain a nuclear weapon, and we will not sit idly by as they continue to pursue those weapons. After President Trump and his team conducted targeted, strategic strikes this weekend, Iran’s nuclear program has been set back decades, making both America and the world safer. Credit to President Trump and his team for their commitment to keeping America safe and upholding American peace through strength. This week, the House is back in session for another week of legislative activity and votes. I will participate in a Transportation and Infrastructure Committee markup to consider several bills that cut bureaucratic red tape and increase efficiency in the Clean Water Act permitting process. The U.S. House of Representatives will also vote on the first of 12 appropriations bills. The Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act provides critical funding for military housing, health care, and infrastructure projects that improve the lives of our servicemembers and their families. We’ll also vote on the Agriculture Risk Review Act of 2025, which enhances our food and national security by ensuring foreign purchases of American farmland are properly reviewed. It gives USDA a formal seat at the table in the review process and ensures the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) evaluates whether a transaction poses a threat to our nation’s food and agricultural security. Lastly, the U.S. House of Representatives will continue to vote on legislation that delivers on the nation’s November 5th mandate. House Republicans will pass legislation to safeguard our elections from illegal aliens, protect our communities from violent criminals who are in the country illegally, condemn the riots we saw in Los Angeles, and condemn the political violence that unfolded in Minnesota. We are committed to restoring common sense to Washington, D.C., and getting our country back on track. Thank you to the National Right to Life Convention for inviting me to speak and for your partnership in defending the right to life. For nearly 50 years, millions of unborn children lost their lives under Roe v. Wade. That chapter is behind us, but our work is far from over. In the face of a culture that tries to desensitize the value of life, we must continue to speak the truth and stand firm in our convictions. I will always support the life-saving work of pro-life pregnancy centers, adoption advocates, and community mentors who provide real hope and real help to expecting parents. As a father, I will never apologize for standing up for the unborn, and I’m grateful to partner with so many courageous Americans in the fight to protect life. Strengthening U.S. Energy Security The EPA’s newly proposed Renewable Fuel Standards are a win for Kansas farmers, American energy security, and rural communities across the country. I’ve long supported an all-of-the-above energy strategy that puts American producers first, and this rule does exactly that. By raising the biofuel volume requirements to the highest levels ever and prioritizing homegrown fuels over foreign imports, President Trump and Administrator Zeldin are delivering for rural America. Strengthening the RFS means more markets for our corn and soybean producers, lower gas prices for American families, and less reliance on hostile foreign nations. I’m grateful to see this bold proposal move forward and will continue supporting policies that unleash American energy and grow rural economies. Expanding Domestic Fuel Production Honoring Dairy Farms Happy Dairy Month! I have cosponsored a resolution recognizing June as National Dairy Month to honor the hardworking farm families who power our nation’s dairy industry. As Chairman of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry, I’m proud to represent Kansas producers who rise early and work long hours to help feed the world. Their commitment to producing safe, healthy, and nutritious dairy products is unmatched, and they deserve our full support, this month and every month. Nominating Young Men and Women to the US Military Applications are now open for military academy nominations through my office. It’s an honor to nominate outstanding young men and women from the Big First District to attend our nation’s service academies. If you or someone you know is interested in attending West Point, the Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy, or Merchant Marine Academy, visit my website to learn more about the process and fill out the application. The application process closes on Monday, September 29th, 2025, at 5:00 pm CT. Military Academy Nomination Application Standing with our Ally Israel The U.S. unequivocally stands with Israel. That's why I proudly cosponsored H.Res.521, a resolution standing with Israel as it works to dismantle Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities and defend its citizens from ongoing Iranian attacks. Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terror, whose regime chants "Death to America, Death to Israel." As our closest ally in the Middle East and the only democracy in the region, Israel has every right to protect its people from violence and to stop Iran's pursuit of a nuclear weapon. I will always stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel and defend its right to exist in peace and security.
