Today marks three years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, and Ohio Republican lawmakers are observing by proposing one of the most dangerous, extreme anti-abortion bills in Ohio history.

When Roe was overturned, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost took legal action in MERE MINUTES to activate Ohio’s 6-week abortion ban – even though Ohioans overwhelmingly supported reproductive freedom.

Since Yost and his out-of-touch Republicans didn’t listen, Ohioans turned out in droves in 2023 to pass Issue 1 and enshrine reproductive rights in our state constitution – but the GOP is continuing to ignore the will of voters and trying to have it overturned.

Now, they’ve taken their extremism to a whole new level. Their new bill would make abortion – both obtaining and performing one – a criminal act, subject to homicide charges. But that’s not all – it threatens IVF and puts contraception at risk, too.

It’s cruel, dangerous, and completely out of step with what Ohio voters decided at the ballot box.
