Dear Network, dear Friends,

last time this E-News shared the grim update of our List of Refugee Deaths, now counting 66.519 people dead at the borders of Europe. For this reason we launched this year Campaign for World Refugee Day under the slogan UNITED Against Deadly Border Policies. In 2024 they were 60.620, meaning that more than six thousands people died because of the policies of Fortress Europe, because of our inhumane border policies, that are getting worse, in Europe and all over the world.

For this reason, together with our social media action (you can follow it on Instagram | Facebook | LinkedIn), we're proud to announce that we're launching a Working Group on the New EU Pact on Migration & Asylum, to take concrete action, challenging the myth of neutrality at borders and spread solidarity with refugees and migrants, understanding how to overturn this new EU policy, which is set to take effect in an year, effecting the lives of thousands of people.

The goal of the Working Group is to strengthen our alliance, prepare for the challenges ahead, and stand united against border injustices.

What will the Working Group do?

• Host online meetups with experts to educate members about the Pact.
• Develop a shared roadmap for 2026 activities.
• Compile reports on asylum seekers’ new conditions in Europe.
• Create advocacy tools to support your local and policy work — all grounded in solidarity and a commitment to human rights.

Who can join?

Everyone who is interested in contrasting this unjust policy and Not just EU members!
Fortress Europe doesn’t stop at EU borders — and neither do we.

How to Apply:

Fill this form by July 14th or get in touch with us by dropping an email at [email protected].

Update: What's Happening now that the Hungarian Parliament delayed its vote on the "Transparency of Public life" Bill?

The scheduled vote on the controversial bill has been postponed until autumn—a rare move that gives us more time to strategize, but the risks remain very real.
First of all we want to thank you for your incredible support so far! If we missed any of your messages since May 13th, please reach out again and check our website.
