Friend,
Two-time Grammy Award winner MannyWellz is a DACA recipient who uses his music as a therapeutic tool to connect with people all across the country.
He is just one of several Black immigrant performers who will perform at a special virtual concert event tomorrow, June 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET, organized for June’s Immigrant Heritage Month in collaboration with Broccoli City Fest celebrating the power of Black music — and you’re invited!
This very special virtual concert is hosted by Goapele with panels featuring Brandon McEachern, founder of Broccoli City Festival, Opal Tometi, co-founder of Black Lives Matter, and many more. This night will focus on how joy and community play important roles in resistance to systems of violence and oppression and will explore the connection between Black music and activism throughout history.
Will you join this celebration of Black and immigrant joy? Admission is free — we just need you to RSVP.

In good times and in bad, we all rely on our communities to lift us up. In this moment, as Black organizers lead movements to protect Black lives across the country, it is more important than ever that we honor and uplift the traditions which have always brought joy and comfort.
Yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump Administration broke the law when it ended DACA in 2017. This is a critical victory for all DACA recipients and we want to celebrate together. Finding joy and community is essential to ensuring that our mental health is preserved.
As we stand with those fighting for accountability from law enforcement, immigration enforcement, and the criminal justice systems that have failed on so many fronts, we must continue to take time to create spaces for joy and community and celebrate those who lift us up.
Get ready for a free night of music, unity, and joy: RSVP now to attend the Joy in Resistance concert tomorrow June 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
