John,
Three years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, shredding decades of precedent, stripping away our right to choose, and opening the door to even more attacks on privacy, bodily autonomy, and LGBTQ+ rights.
Since then, people have been denied the dignity, compassion, and care they deserve. In a campaign ad, former Spotlight candidate and current Texas State Senator Molly Cook detailed her own abortion experience, stating; "When I had my abortion, they denied me dignity, love and respect." That denial is now law for millions.
At LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, we’re fighting back. We’re proudly pro-choice and have endorsed over 160 LGBTQ+ candidates who are defending the right to choose and pushing back against hate. In Virginia - the last Southern state where abortion remains legal - LGBTQ+ candidates are fighting to hold the line. If we lose the pro-equality majority in the state House, abortion rights and LGBTQ+ protections are both at risk. Donate today to ensure we can hold the majority in Virginia and in more key states!
From Congress to state legislatures, LGBTQ+ leaders like Tammy Baldwin and Becca Balint are taking bold action. And across the country, LGBTQ+ elected officials in states like Florida and Texas are pushing back against trigger bans and ballot restrictions.
We can’t undo the harm of the last three years. But we can win on Election Day and stop the attacks on our rights. When bigots overturned Roe, the candidates we worked overtime to elect sprang into action. They're working to protect our rights - and we have to make sure they have the resources to win again. Take a moment today to donate to support this essential work - and let anti-choice bigots know we won't be stripped of our dignity any longer.
Thank you,
Sarah LeDonne
