Hi John,

The public has been betrayed at an unprecedented level. Wildlife and our natural heritage — and each one of us — will pay the price.

The 3 million acres the Senate wants to auction off belong to the public. The Center for Biological Diversity is fighting this craven land grab with all we've got.

Please give now to the Wildlife and Wild Places Defense Fund. This moment is unlike anything we’ve seen.

The budget bill making its way through Congress initially had a provision to sell millions of acres of public lands, but the House dropped it.

But Sen. Mike Lee of Utah put it back in, and it's moving ahead. Now, 3 million acres across nearly a dozen states could be sold off to private developers.

Instead of wilderness, there will be trophy homes for the ultra-rich.

Hundreds of millions of acres more could be opened up for mining, drilling and logging.

The lands up for sale are habitat for grizzlies, spotted owls and countless other species. The forests, meadows, deserts and open spaces are used by all of us for hiking, camping and taking in nature.

We're witnessing an attempt at the largest liquidation of public lands in modern history.

It's a theft from all of us — and wildlife. This brazen robbery must be challenged by anyone who values public lands and wants them to remain in public hands.

The Center is already aggressively campaigning to stop it, and we need you to stand with us.

Please help with a gift today to the Wildlife and Wild Places Fund.
