Record-Breaking Year for Ottawa County Art Trust: Winners Announced June 24

Ottawa County and the Holland Area Arts Council will announce the winning entries in the Ottawa County Art Trust exhibition on June 24, 2025. Join the reception beginning at 4 PM and awards ceremony at 4:30 PM at the Ottawa County Administration Building, Conference Room H (12220 Fillmore Street, West Olive). Ottawa County will purchase the awarded works to add to its permanent art collection.

This year's exhibition features more art than ever before, with 144 entries by 79 artists who live or work in Ottawa County — the most work from the most artists in the trust's history.

All entries will be on display in the Ottawa County Administration Building on weekdays through September 8. The pieces not chosen for the County's collection remain available to purchase from the exhibit.

The Art Trust is a tangible way to demonstrate Ottawa County's commitment to local culture, creativity, and innovation. At the same time, the trust will preserve a legacy of art for generations of residents.

The Art Trust was established in 2018. Ottawa County and the Holland Area Arts Council hold the exhibition annually to grow the County's fine art collection. The Ottawa County Art Trust establishes a permanent collection of artwork created by local artists. To date, the Art Trust Collection has grown to 75 art pieces from 47 unique artists (excluding the 2025 selections, which will be announced). The works bring life to the halls, waiting areas, and conference rooms of Ottawa County facilities.

The public can get involved by:

  • Viewing and appreciating the art at the exhibition.
  • Purchasing art from the show for their homes or offices. Purchases support local artists, the Holland Area Arts Council and the Art Trust. Many beautiful pieces remain for sale.
  • Purchasing exhibition pieces to donate to the Art Trust. Sponsoring a piece is a thoughtful way to show dedication to the art community or to honor a loved one, family member or mentor. Sponsored pieces will be marked with a plate, recognizing the gift.
  • Those wishing to make a purchase or gift may contact Shannon Felgner with Ottawa County.
