Hi, DSCC Vice Chair Mark Kelly here. I want to talk to you about a key opportunity in front of us as we fight for the Senate majority: special elections.
I know a thing or two about these kinds of races, because I got to the Senate by winning a special election back in 2020 — even as Republicans spent over $70 million to stop me. And my victory proved mission-critical, because without it, Democrats wouldn't have had a Senate majority.
Now, history could repeat itself. Two special elections coming up in Ohio and Florida are among a small handful of races that could decide the majority — again. So I'm coming to ask you, will you donate $5 to win races like those and take back the Senate? >>
I want to be clear, team: These special elections give us an opportunity we would have waited YEARS for without them, and they make a BIG difference.
In fact, during Donald Trump's first term, Democrats flipped three Senate seats in special elections, including mine, my good friend Raphael Warnock's, and even a seat in dark-red Alabama. Each time, we defeated Trump-endorsed candidates who would have been guaranteed votes for his destructive agenda, and instead we elected Democrats who fought for hardworking Americans.
Now, we're facing the same task again — but it won't be easy. Trump is reportedly "obsessed" with the midterms, National Republicans will spend big-time to keep their majority, and just like when I first won, Democrats only need to flip a handful of seats to take back the Senate.
Take it from someone who's been in this position before: We'll need your help to make the most of this opportunity, and that's why I'm reaching out.
As a DSCC Vice Chair, I'm personally asking: Will you chip in $5 or whatever you can to help Democrats win in states like Ohio and Florida and take back the Senate? We have a real opportunity to topple Trump's majority, and we can't let it slip away >>
We need your help to fight for the Senate. If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will be processed immediately.
Thank you for your support. Let's go win this thing. Mark Kelly Vice Chair, DSCC
