“They Have Money For War But Can't Feed The Poor.”
― Tupac Shakur
Hi John,
The Senate is preparing to vote this week on the budget reconciliation bill. If passed, it will be a gut punch to hardworking families. Slashing vital services – the very things that keep our communities afloat – is unconscionable. It prioritizes billions for war, defense contractors and billionaires, while tearing families apart and leaving them, seniors and our neighbors struggling to afford groceries and facing the impacts of climate change with fewer resources. Clean water, climate resilience – all sacrificed so the wealthy can get wealthier. We need a budget that protects our families, not the military-industrial complex and the pockets of the privileged.
As the White House is escalating their war with Iran and continues to support the genocide in Gaza, Congressional Republicans are working to pass a bill that would remove some of the few remaining limits on the Trump administration’s hateful vision for our country.
Please call and [email your Senators now]([link removed]) and urge them to oppose the budget reconciliation bill. The bill presents a generational threat to democratic rule of law and community wellness across the country. It is a messy compilation of cruel policy provisions that attack working class families, our civil rights, it places public lands on sale, it guts climate protections while lavishing unthinkable sums of money on defense contractors, immigration enforcement and corporations.

Communities across the US and across the world have been devastated by military occupation, war, and state-sanctioned violence. The US military is also the single largest consumer of fossil fuels in the world, and has served as the enforcer of occupation of Indigenous and sovereign lands while upholding violent resource extraction. Addressing climate change requires ending the military industrial complex. [Artwork by GranOM]([link removed]).
