Hi John,

Trump is halting wind energy progress – not because of science, safety, or cost, but because they’re not quite his style.

This is a direct quote from him:

“[My administration is] not going to approve windmills unless something happens that’s an emergency…you go and look at these beautiful plains and valleys, and they’re loaded up with this garbage that gets worse and worse looking with time.”

This is the kind of nonsense our SEEC members are up against. They know that clean energy is the way of the future, and that the U.S. is already playing catch-up with other countries like China. Can you chip in now to help us elect more climate champions and boost our pro-clean energy voting bloc in Congress? [[link removed]]

Yes! » [[link removed]]Here’s the truth: Donald Trump has been holding a grudge against wind power for more than a decade. His quixotic grievances started when he lost a legal battle trying to block a wind farm near his Scottish golf resort.

Yes, really.

He took his case all the way to the UK Supreme Court, arguing that offshore turbines would “spoil the view” from his Aberdeenshire property. He lost the case; not only were the turbines ultimately built, but Trump was also ordered to pay the Scottish government’s legal fees.

And now, more than $2 billion in clean energy investments are stalled in New York alone. Our energy decisions are being made by the whims and years-long personal animosities of a Big Oil backer, which is why it’s critical that SEEC PAC builds up its resources to elect more climate allies in 2026.

Thanks to your help last year, we were able to re-elect over 95% of our House members, defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Next year, we need to make sure our numbers are even stronger and that we add new voices to the growing chorus against this administration’s destruction of our climate future.

John, can I count on you to chip in any amount today to help us get there? [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand.
