Last Thursday was Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, a federal holiday marking the day that over 250,000 Black Americans were finally freed in Texas by executive decree — over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

Amid attacks on personal freedoms, DEI programs, and funding cuts to environmental justice efforts, LCV invites you to honor this pivotal day in history by attending a virtual panel conversation with climate organizers and Black leaders across the country. Panelists will discuss what freedom looks like and how we can work together to keep each other encouraged and politically active in our communities during this hostile political landscape. Join us to learn more about the racial justice challenges still being faced 160 years after Juneteenth, and actions you can take to help dismantle racism in your community.
