"Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas can "envision" a day when Connecticut's largest municipality may no longer need election monitors to ensure candidates, campaigns and voters comply with the law.
But that day has not yet arrived. Connecticut legislators included $300,000 in their just-passed state budget to keep Thomas' monitors in Democrat-run Bridgeport for this year's upcoming municipal primary and general election, 2026's contests for state offices, and any special elections held during that same timeframe."
