VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump publicly embarrasses Vance, Hegseth over Iran
The MAGA cult leader took to his social media platform yesterday and flatly refuted his top lieutenants just hours after they separately appeared on national television and attempted to articulate the administration's rapidly devolving foreign policy strategy in the Middle East. JD Vance explicitly stated on NBC's "Meet the Press" that "regime change" was off the table, only to have Trump immediately declare otherwise with a "Make Iran Great Again! MIGA!" call to action. Not to be outdone by the vice president, Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth also put himself out on a limb, only to have it sawed off by Trump a short while later. Hegseth declared: "This mission was not and has not been about regime change." The truth is, Trump's foreign policy is dictated by whatever the 79-year-old authoritarian is thinking minute by minute, largely influenced by whomever is currently whispering in his ear. For the sake of millions, let us all hope someone with a compelling de-escalation message wriggles their way into earshot of this deeply dangerous and woefully unqualified man.

Oil prices soar after US attacks on Iran nuclear sites
Oh, hey, would you look at that? Skyrocketing oil prices! Remember last year when Donald promised gas would cost less than two bucks a gallon and vowed to halve energy costs for all Americans in his first year back in the White House? Yeah, not happening.

Trump White House braces for "escalatory" Iranian retaliation
The White House is bracing for potential Iranian retaliation against US troops after Donald Trump launched strikes on three nuclear facilities over the weekend. At the moment, concerns are primarily focused on the potential risk to the 40,000-plus US troops stationed throughout the Middle East, one person familiar with internal administration conversations told Semafor. Any response from Iran, however, would likely force the administration to commit further to a conflict that the MAGA cult leader had previously and naively hoped to disengage from after the Saturday night strikes. Just a thought, but maybe dropping 420,000 pounds of bombs on a sovereign state isn't the best way to avoid getting "dragged into" a protracted, deadly conflict overseas.

Trump-appointed judge awarded neo-Nazi law student at University of Florida coveted prize for paper arguing US Constitution only applies to white people
Well folks, it’s another banner day for the "original intent" crowd and their march to restore white supremacy in America! A Trump-appointed judge who also happens to teach at the University of Florida recently awarded a neo-Nazi law student with a prestigious award for arguing in a paper that the US Constitution — brace yourselves — should only apply to white people. Preston Damsky, the 29-year-old law student in question, was later suspended by the university after he posted a series of incredibly racist messages on nüTwitter suggesting Jewish people should be "abolished by any means necessary," that voting rights ought to be revoked for non-whites, and that shoot-to-kill orders should be issued for "criminal infiltrators at the border." But not before Judge John L. Badalamenti, clearly moved by Damsky's riveting intellect, presented the hatemonger with his "book award," reserved for the seminar's top student. In an interview with The New York Times, Damsky openly admitted that it would "not be manifestly wrong" to describe him as a Nazi. It would also "not be manifestly wrong" to call him a cockroach.

AOC brutally bursts Trump world bubble for Pete Hegseth’s "no leak" praise
MAGA sycophants and professional back-patters showered DUI hire Pete Hegseth with ridiculous praise for being a big boy and not leaking plans of Trump's airstrikes on Iran ahead of time, prompting a brutal rebuke from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. "This is like applauding a grown man for being able to wipe their behind," she tweeted. Ouch. Not sigma.
Trump kicks "pathetic" GOP lawmaker out of his movement: "MAGA doesn’t want him"
Republican Congressman Thomas Massie drew the MAGA cult leader's predictable ire for publicly coming out against the US bombing of Iranian nuclear and military facilities over the weekend. Trump decried the Libertarian lawmaker as "weak," "lazy," and "pathetic" for opposing him on Iran, the "big beautiful bill" and more and, vengeful as ever, promised to primary Massie — who he thumb-smashed should be "dropped like the plague" by MAGA — in next year's midterm elections.
Top Democrat comes under furious GOP fire for opposing Trump's catastrophic bill
Chris Pappas for Senate: Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Chris Pappas did the right thing, as he has for each of his 20 years in public service, and voted against Trump's tax bill because it would kick millions of Americans off their healthcare, and now the GOP is trying to make him pay the price. Within hours of passage, the Republican National Senatorial Committee blasted Pappas on social media for having “just voted against the largest middle class tax cut in history" (an outrageous lie) in an attempt to derail his campaign for the must-win New Hampshire Senate seat being vacated by the retiring Sen. Shaheen. Will you chip in to Chris Pappas' campaign to say THANK YOU for doing the right thing and help him fight back against the relentless attacks from Trump's cronies?
Marjorie Taylor Greene rages against Trump Iran strike with chilling warning
The QAnon congresswoman shows no signs of holstering her "America First" guns, excoriating the MAGA cult leader for the weekend bombings in Iran. Greene tweeted: "Now what has been done is done and Americans now fear Iranian terrorists attacks [sic] on our own soil and being dragged into another war by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu when we weren't even thinking about any of this a week ago." On that point she's not wrong. Greene then turned the rhetorical dial up to 11 and asked why Trump isn't also dropping bunker-busting bombs on Mexican drug cartels or taking provocative military action to combat "Chinese fentanyl/drugs." Pretty sure we don't want to get involved in a direct military conflict with China, but we digress. Greene went on to state that she "can easily say I support nuclear armed Israel’s right to defend themselves and also say at the same time I don't want to fight or fund nuclear armed Israel’s wars. Nor any other country for that matter." These are strange days for the MAGA cult crowd, indeed.
ICE detains Marine Corps veteran’s wife who was still breastfeeding their baby
Marine Corps veteran Adrian Clouatre doesn't know how to tell his children where their mother went after ICE thugs detained her last month. When his nearly 2-year-old son Noah asks for his mother before bed, Clouatre just tells him, “Mama will be back soon.” When his 3-month-old, breastfeeding daughter Lyn is hungry, he gives her a bottle of baby formula instead. He’s worried how his newborn will bond with her mother absent skin-to-skin contact. Clouatre's wife, Paola, is one of tens of thousands of people in custody and facing deportation as the Trump regime pushes for immigration officers to arrest 3,000 people a day. Even as Marine Corps recruiters promote enlistment as protection for families lacking legal status, directives for strict immigrant enforcement have cast away practices of deference previously afforded to military families, immigration law experts say. The federal agency tasked with helping military family members gain legal status now refers them for deportation, government memos show. It is so good to be great again.
Republican lawmaker with ectopic pregnancy nearly died amid new Florida abortion laws she supported
Florida Republican Rep. Kat Cammack has revealed that she almost died last year as a result of her state’s draconian six-week abortion ban, which left hospital staff reluctant to treat her ectopic pregnancy for fear of criminal prosecution. A doctor discovered the non-viable embryo implanted where the fallopian tube meets the uterus, a cornual ectopic pregnancy, and frankly told the representative: "If this ruptures, it'll kill you." But after deciding against surgery, the facility’s doctors and nurses had to be persuaded to give her the shot of methotrexate she required to expel the pregnancy. That was because the state’s six-week ban — which Cammack voted for — had come into effect at the start of that month, causing staff to fear they could lose their medical licenses and be sent to jail if they gave her the drug, which blocks the flow of folic acid to the embryo to prevent its growth. Cammack said she was forced to pull up the letter of the law on her phone to argue the case and even put in a call to Gov. Ron DeSantis, without being able to reach him, before staff relented and came to her aid. Imagine being in Cammack's shoes, but NOT being a public officeholder or having your governor on speed dial. Ask yourself if hospital officials — intentionally put in impossible positions by GOP lawmakers directly at odds with the Hippocratic Oath they took — would feel compelled to act on your behalf. Or that of a marginalized, young woman lacking the social status of a well-connected politician. There's a reason these decisions should be left to medical professionals and not Bible-thumping ideologues in state houses. It's life-or-death stuff and should be treated as such.
Shocking video appears to show father of three US Marines being beaten by masked agents in parking lot
A shocking video shows three masked US Border Patrol agents mercilessly beating an unresisting man on the ground in southern California. The man turned out to be Narciso Barranco, 48, a landscaper from Tustin and the father of three US Marines. Barranco was pepper-sprayed in addition to being beaten, according to his sons, and taken into custody. "I didn't really know what to say. I was still in shock and distress. I do believe my father was racially profiled — they didn't ask him anything," said his son, Alejandro Barranco. "They just started chasing him, and he ran because he was scared. He didn't know who was after him." This is just the latest outrageous display of shocking violence by Donald Trump’s deportation thugs. There is absolutely no justifiable reason to inflict this kind of brutality on a landscaper at an IHOP; these men were clearly motivated by racial hatred.
Let's go ahead and mess with Texas
And in other news
Hope...
