John,
Last week, the Senate released its version of the reconciliation budget — the budget bill that will harm millions of working families in order to enrich billionaires. And it’s even worse than the version that was already approved by the House.
The Senate bill would steal health care and food assistance away from millions of Americans, in order to give away handouts to the wealthiest Americans. But we still have time to stop this devastating bill.
Working Families Power, MoveOn, Indivisible, and Community Change Action are hosting a series of phonebanks this week in order to have one-on-one conversations with Medicaid recipients and urge them to contact their own Senators directly. Sign up here and help make calls today, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 6pm ET/3pm PT!

The House bill would rip away lifesaving health care from 16 million people. The Senate’s proposed cuts are even harsher.
- The bill would impose damaging work requirements on Medicaid recipients that will take health care away from parents, people with disabilities, and patients with chronic illnesses.
- It will make it harder for people to enroll in Medicaid or maintain their coverage, and eliminate coverage for people who have been granted humanitarian protection in the U.S. including refugees and asylum seekers.
- And it will make it even harder for states to finance their Medicaid programs, causing further harm to the program and increasing the number of people who will lose health care access.
John, working families are already struggling. Millions can barely afford to cover their basic necessities — food, water, and shelter — without going into debt.
Republicans in Congress want to make life even harder for working families in order to give their campaign donors a larger slice of the pie.
Enough is enough. We must say NO to these disastrous cuts. Please RSVP to join a phonebank this week to keep the pressure on the Senate to block this terrible bill from becoming law.
