Hi there,

Tomorrow marks the three-year anniversary of the day millions of Americans were stripped of a hard-fought right – the only time that has ever happened in U.S. history: The fall of Roe v. Wade.

We’ve seen the tragic consequences of this Supreme Court decision play out over the last three years, so we wanted to take a moment to remind you of how we got here – and how we can defend our rights for the future.

As you can see below, there is a clear correlation between harmful policy about women and a lack of women’s representation in government. Of the 10 states with the least amount of women in state government, 8 passed complete abortion bans in the immediate moments after Roe v. Wade was overturned. That means the abortion bans we’ve seen sweeping across the country have actually been written by rooms full of men.

We know that having more women in the rooms where decisions about our bodies are being made will be our best defense against future sexist policies. Help chip away at the male supermajorities in states with abortion bans by rushing $20.25 or more today.

These aren't the only states with abortion bans, of course – but it's no coincidence that the states with the very lowest representation numbers for women in government almost all have abortion bans. We don’t understand where these male policymakers found the audacity to pass dangerous laws about women’s bodies – especially with so few women in the rooms to weigh in on these decisions. But we DO know that each and every one of them should be voted out of public office. The work we do at Her Bold Move is helping to make that happen.

We also want to turn your attention to the middle column in the graphic above. As you can see, there are millions of women in the states with the lowest representation numbers for women in government – millions of women living under extreme restrictions to their bodily autonomy. The women in these states are being left behind. That’s why, at Her Bold Move, we are doubling down on our support for pro-choice women candidates running for office in red states. We have the power to enact real change, but we need your help.

As we reflect on the last three years, and the sad wake up call we all experienced that day in 2022, our resolve is greater than ever. Women in America deserve better. That’s why we are dedicated to electing fiercely pro-choice women who will advocate for us in the halls of power.

Help us continue to elect qualified women up and down the ballot who will protect and defend our right to abortion access by donating $HPC/20.25 TODAY.

Her Bold Move

Her Bold Move is the fastest-growing support network for women running for political office in America. As dangerous laws about women get passed in states with the lowest numbers of women in government (11%, 12%....), we're BREAKING the male supermajorities across those states.

Because men shouldn't be making laws about women's bodies.
