Hello John!
I recognize this is going out much later than typical, and I thank you for patience while I return from a recent trip and our new Steering Committee settles into their roles.
Please join us for our upcoming June General Meeting! We are going to be meeting more frequently to foster a larger sense of community for the chapter, so we really hope you'll join us. If enough people sign up for in-person, we will be able to make this a hybrid GM, which is a first for many of us!
There will be updates from Steering Committee, our various campaigns and working groups, and then delve into a great discussion regarding a recent memo from National, as well as a tangential introduction to "Organizing Means Commitment " by Grace Lee Boggs
Here is a quote from the beginning of the Boggs piece that I resonated with
"Because our historical reality has been shaped the actions of human beings who have internalized the contradiction between technological overdevelopment and human underdevelopment, even if we protest so effectively that we acquire state power, if we don’t change our ways of thinking and relating to one another, we will only further develop this contradiction with new people in charge. These changes must be rooted in love." (pg 3)
