On Saturday the Pentagon executed one of the most stunning military strikes in modern American history. President Trump channeled Teddy Roosevelt: speak softly and carry a massive ordnance penetrator.
The American strikes on Iran were a master class in operational competence, as detailed by General Dan Cain. The Pentagon scrambled multiple B-2 bombers to demolate Iran’s underground nuclear facilities in the dead of night.
The explosive power of our bombers is staggering–each jet accurately detonated a “bunker-busting” bomb with 15 tons of payload. This was the first time B-2 stealth bombers have faced modern air defense systems, and not a single one was detected by Iran. This plane model is over 30 years old and still outclasses anything our enemies have in 2025.
Iran has already started rebuilding their nuclear facilities, and promised retribution. We’ll see (hopefully not) what “retribution” entails, but to quote Sec Def Hegseth, these airstrikes should have a “clear psychological impact on how they view their future.”
President Trump told Iranian leadership that regime change is not his objective, although he suggested today on social media he hasn’t ruled it out.
In a single night the White House erased years of weakness and capitulation to Iran. The Obama-era “treaty” with Iran clearly did nothing to impede their nuclear weapons program. I wonder if Obama regrets making fun of President Trump at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner?
Update: CNN is reporting House Democrats on the Intelligence Committee were not briefed on the strikes in advance, only Republicans were–which explains why the plans weren’t leaked.
