Celebrating the U.S. Army's 250th Birthday

Last week, Team Gonzales celebrated the U.S. Army's 250th Birthday at Fort Bliss in El Paso.

We are forever grateful for the generations of soldiers who answered the call to serve.

Stopping the Spread of Screwworms

This week, I was on the ground in South Texas with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary, Brooke Rollins, to launch a new facility to protect our livestock from the deadly screwworm.

This facility has been one of my top priorities. From introducing the STOP Screwworms Act to leading funding efforts through my seat on the House Committee on Appropriations, I am determined to do everything possible to eliminate this deadly parasite.

Big News for Big Bend

This week, my legislation to improve conservation efforts at Big Bend National Park passed in the U.S. Senate.

With the Senate's passage of the Big Bend National Park Boundary Adjustment Act, we are one step closer to improving the National Park Service’s ability to preserve and protect critical habitats, history, and geology at Big Bend for generations to come.

I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to move this legislation through the U.S. House of Representatives.

Eagle Pass Presidential Permit Approved

On Friday, President Trump approved a permit to expand the Camino Real International Bridge in Eagle Pass.

This has been a long-time priority for the region and the upcoming improvements will greatly boost trade along the border.

From securing federal funds to improve access along the Camino Real bridge to leading legislation that streamlines approval for port of entry projects, I am committed to improving trade across our district, and I’m proud to see this project coming to life for the Eagle Pass community.
