Hi folks, it’s Michael.
In May 2019, I threw my hat into the ring and announced that I was running for president.
It wasn’t a decision I made lightly, but I knew our vision for America was worth fighting for.
I ran for president on a platform that was progressive, fiscally responsible, and popular among a majority of the American people. We called it “The Real Deal.”
It was an economic vision informed by the years and miles I’ve spent traveling our state. My platform called for paid and family medical leave, investing in our infrastructure, raising the minimum wage, lowering healthcare and prescription drug costs, tackling our housing affordability crisis, driving down the cost of higher education, and paying teachers their worth.
The Economist even said some of my ideas were better than Senator Elizabeth Warren’s. [[link removed]]

At the center of my platform was the expansion of the Child Tax Credit. Working families have always been my top priority in public service—and this policy gives parents much-needed breathing room to put food on the table, pay for essentials, and support their kids.
We’ve made progress since my run for president. Along with the temporary Child Tax Credit expansion, we’ve passed a historic investment in American infrastructure and lowered prescription drug prices for seniors.
But President Trump and Republican leadership are hellbent on reversing as much of our progress as possible. Trump’s "big, beautiful bill" will strip millions of Americans of their healthcare, drive up costs, and further explode our national debt—just to fund tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy.
The solutions to our biggest challenges won't come from Washington's broken politics or Trump's chaos. They will come from Colorado; from all of us working together. That's why I'm running for governor.
In the State Capitol, I’ll continue pushing bold ideas and policies that reflect the best of us. We’ll build more affordable housing, lower the cost of healthcare, modernize our education system, and protect our precious public lands.
Friend, I can’t and wouldn’t want to do this without you right by my side. I’d love it if you’d consider supporting my campaign for governor by contributing today. Even just $25 or $15 makes an impact. >> [[link removed]]
