As the conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, with no end in sight, we are witnessing an unparalleled humanitarian crisis that has claimed countless lives, displaced millions, and decimated essential infrastructure. Each day, the resilience of the Ukrainian people is tested as they face the enormous challenges of survival amid turmoil.
Among those hardest hit are the women and girls of Ukraine, who are confronting unique and severe impacts. The destruction of infrastructure has rendered healthcare services and survivor support out of reach for many, heightening the risk of trafficking and violence. Livelihoods have been lost and poverty levels are rising, compounding the struggle for dignity and security.
Today, protecting and delivering aid to the millions of Ukrainian women and girls in need must remain top priority. Will you help increase the humanitarian response to this urgent crisis by making a lifesaving gift today? Your generosity can bring relief and hope to those who need it most. [[link removed]?]
MAKE A LIFESAVING GIFT [[link removed]?]
UNFPA is at the forefront of this humanitarian crisis, ensuring access to essential services, strengthening care for pregnant women and new mothers, and improving access to lifesaving care in conflict-affected areas in Ukraine.
Ulla Müller , the head of the UNFPA team in Ukraine, has warned about the increased violence and danger and scarce resources that women in Ukraine are facing.
“[Violence] is the shadow of the crisis that no one talks about…Unless we tell the world how ugly this is and how it is for women, it will not change.”
This includes a young mother of five , who was met by a UNFPA psychologist named Tetiana after stepping off a train in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro — holding a small bag. The woman was fleeing attacks in the Zaporizhzhia region, but she was also escaping a violent partner, a man who once beat her so severely she suffered a miscarriage.
She needs urgent medical attention, legal assistance, and a safe place for her children.

UNFPA is working with countless women with stories like this to deliver critical support alongside local organizations offering shelter, counseling, legal services, and more.
But despite these efforts, a critical funding gap remains, limiting UNFPA’s access to scale up essential services.
Women are bearing different and additional burdens, but there is hope with your support. Gifts from supporters like you have been providing lifesaving aid and empowering women and girls to rise above adversity — but the needs are increasing.
With your gift today, you can help ensure more women and girls gain access to urgently needed care, protection, and support services in Ukraine's hardest-hit areas.
You can make an emergency gift to extend support not only in Ukraine but also to women and girls in crisis worldwide. We hope you’ll help ensure no voice is left unheard and no woman or girl is left behind. [[link removed]?]
