We actually can’t believe this happened.

Republicans are saying the quiet part out loud. In a recent court filing, the Republican National Committee (RNC) admitted that stronger access to the ballot box makes it harder for their candidates to win.

Democracy Docket: RNC Intervenes to Back Trump Anti-Voting Order, Claims Greater Voter Access Hurts Their Candidates

Let’s be clear: This is how the national Republican Party tried to defend President Trump’s anti-voter executive order that is trying to gut vote-by-mail and impose proof-of-citizenship laws. It’s a plan that would disenfranchise millions of eligible voters and undermine our fundamental right to vote.

When an entire political party admits it’s doing what it can to make it harder to vote, it’s on the rest of us to stop them.

The reality is, this is just the latest effort in a long list of measures that attack voting rights.

Anti-democracy forces have launched widespread efforts to further partisan gerrymandering across the country, including the Trump administration pushing Texas lawmakers to draw new gerrymandered maps before the midterms. This includes the SAVE Act, which aims to restrict access to the ballot box for certain citizens, as well as several state-level copycat bills. And don’t forget, Republicans even tried to outright steal a free and fair election in North Carolina.

Republicans are making it clear they will do everything they can to dilute the power of citizens to make their voices heard. That means we need to keep fighting tooth and nail to stop them.

Rush a contribution now to help push back against extreme anti-voter efforts and let’s build a stronger, fairer democracy. [[link removed]]
