Friend,

Today commemorates the day Union troops marched to Texas to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation by freeing 250,000 enslaved people.

We call it Juneteenth, and today, I’m asking you to honor the history of this holiday by splitting a donation to the NAACP, the Equal Justice Initiative, and the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Racism runs deep in our nation’s roots, and we’re in the middle of a long-due reckoning. Black men and women deserve to feel safe going about their lives, and we need to do deep and thorough work to end the systems of oppression that routinely put their lives and families on the line.

It’s time our country delivered on its promise of freedom for Black people. I hope you’ll join me today to raise money for the NAACP, the Equal Justice Initiative, and the Southern Poverty Law Center and the important work they do to fight racism in our nation.
