I just joined CNN to speak out against Donald Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” — a bill that slashes food assistance and Medicaid, guts protections for public lands, and hands billions in tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy.
Let me be clear: There is absolutely nothing beautiful about this bill.
If I were still serving in Congress, I would’ve voted no. But today, I’m running to be New Mexico’s next governor — because we need strong, compassionate leaders at the state level who will fight back.
Governors are the last line of defense against Trump’s extreme agenda. And if I’m elected, I’ll wake up every single day ready to fight for New Mexico’s working families, our land, and our future.
