And now, he’s facing life behind bars
Sponsored Message From ANB
Dear Friend,
I hope you’ll find it in your heart to make an urgent donation to help defend
Sgt Alfred Flores.

Because could spend the rest of his life behind bars… just for doing his job.
I’m Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and I’ve spent my life in law enforcement. I’ve seen
dangerous situations, split-second decisions, and the heartbreak of politics
interfering with justice.
But rarely have I ever seen anything as disgraceful as what’s happening to Sgt
Flores.

This man gave 15 years of his life to the San Antonio Police Department. He
was born and raised on the south side of San Antonio—and that’s where he chose
to serve.
He patrolled the neighborhoods he grew up in. Protected the families he grew
up with. And answered the call every single day.
He worked as an Officer, a Detective, and a Sergeant. He was respected by
citizens, praised by churches, and commended by the department.
Then one night, everything changed.
On June 23, 2023, Alfred was called to the scene after the local fire
department asked for help. A woman named Melissa Perez was suffering a severe
schizophrenic episode. She was behaving erratically, had already assaulted
officers, and barricaded herself inside her apartment.
She wasn’t alone.
There was an elderly, bed-ridden person trapped in that same apartment—and no
one knew if Perez planned to hurt them. Officers feared she might even be
trying to start a fire in the building.
Flores showed up, worked with his team, assigned less-lethal officers to lead
with tasers and bean bags, and approached cautiously through a rear patio.
And then it all happened in a flash.
Perez charged at the officers with a claw hammer in hand—after having already
hit one of them with a heavy object earlier. Flores was trapped on the patio.
No room to back away. Nowhere to retreat.
In that split second, Sgt. Flores fired his weapon.
A decision made under extreme stress, in a high-stakes situation where lives
were on the line.
And what did he get for it?
He was arrested and charged with murder. Along with two fellow officers. By
Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales—a man with a known record of
targeting law enforcement and appeasing the radical anti-police crowd.
Time is running out—donate today to help us stop this injustice against Alfred
Flores before it’s too late.

Gonzales wants to make an example out of Sgt. Flores.
He wants to send a message that cops who do their jobs in tough situations
will be prosecuted like criminals.
We can’t let that happen.
Right now, Sgt. Flores is facing a first-degree murder charge—and a possible
life sentence. His trial date has not yet been set, but we expect this case to
move quickly. And if we don’t help build a strong legal defense for him now, he
could lose everything.
That’s why I’m asking you to give to his defense today.

Your donation will go to the National Center for Police Defense to help fund
Officer Flores’s legal defense—so he can stand a fighting chance in court.
NCPD has helped other officers before. They’ve cleared names, saved careers,
and kept innocent men out of prison.
Now it’s Officer Flores who needs us.
He was a good cop. A good man. And he doesn’t deserve to be abandoned.
He didn’t turn his back on his city.
Don’t turn your back on him.
Please—give whatever you can right now to help us defend Sgt. Flores from this
outrageous political witch hunt.

Sincerely,
Sheriff Joe Arpaio (ret.)
