The President of the United States was recently asked a simple question:
“Do you have to uphold the Constitution?”

His answer?
“I don’t know.”

That’s not just alarming — it’s dangerous. And it’s why I’m speaking up.

When I was sworn into office, I put my hand on the bible and took the same oath as Donald Trump did : promising to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Only a few hours after he was sworn in, he signed an Executive Order seeking to end Birthright Citizenship — a right that is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment. I immediately responded to this by filing a joint lawsuit to stop this Order from going into effect.

Since that day, he has taken many more actions that undermine Congress, the courts, and the Constitution — all at the expense of the American people.

Trump seems to have forgotten his oath, but I haven’t forgotten mine.

As Attorney General and the state’s top law enforcement officer, I’ve spent my entire career defending our Constitution in courtrooms, in communities, and against those who try to undermine it for political gain. And as long as I’m in office, I will continue to do so.
