Starry Skies & Sweet Summer Nights

There’s nothing quite like a summer night under the stars. Slow down, look up and make magical memories together. But, did you know that natural night skies are fading fast thanks to growing light pollution?

To combat this issue, we're shining a light on the problem by going dark, hosting stargazing events, educating visitors and installing smarter, wildlife-friendly lighting. Several parks are even certified as International Dark Sky Places!

Discover the dark!
See how light pollution impacts wildlife, safety and your view of the stars. You can even check out which parks offer the clearest, starriest skies using the Bortle Scale.

Let’s keep Texas skies sparkling, starry and spectacular for future generations!
