John — I’ll never forget stepping out of the D.C. jail that chilly morning in 2019. I’d just been released after protesting on the steps of the Capitol for climate action.

As I started to leave, a Fox TV reporter rushed over and stuck a mic in my face while his camera rolled.

"Why have you done this, gone to jail?" he asked with an edge in his voice.

"To get you to cover climate," I replied.

That exchange captures exactly why I've put my body on the line over and over again — to force people to pay attention to the crisis that's staring us all in the face.

But I knew that raising awareness wouldn’t be enough. The more I learned about the climate crisis, the more I realized that building a community was essential to growing the movement needed to change the way this country does business.

Protesting got people’s attention. It forced conversations. But nothing is going to change at the scale we need if we don't change the people in power.

That’s why I started JanePAC. My goal was to move people from concern to action, and that’s why I’m grateful to you, John. This community is proof that we’re not in this fight alone.

Together, we’re backing candidates who aren’t afraid to take on corporate polluters. Leaders who understand that science demands urgency. Morality demands courage. And the moment demands boldness.

As Trump and his MAGA allies auction off our planet to the highest bidder, we can’t afford to sit on the sidelines anymore. We need to keep pushing for leaders in office who understand that the window to prevent climate catastrophe is closing fast.

I may be 87 years old, but I’m not slowing down. And I hope you won’t either, John. Will you join me in this fight by chipping in whatever you can to power our work ahead? Together, we can turn our anger into the political change our planet desperately needs.
