Besides the Israeli Pre-Emptive Strike on Iran, 2 Things have happened in NYC Politics:
The New York Times editorial board stated “New York City voters should not “rank” Zohran Mamdani, an anti-Israel state representative, among their choices for mayor in the June 24 Democratic primary” This candidate is strongly supported by all the woke liberals like AOC, Hakeem Jeffries, and Bernie Sanders. It is beyond belief that a candidate who help found a chapter of Justice for Palestine at Bowdoin College could not have an antisemitic bias. This organization is one of the organizers of the antisemitic protests on college campuses throughout the country that have ruined higher education, including Yale, Columbia and NYU. Mamdani will not accept the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state. The fact that he is the candidate of the progressive liberals confirms that the progressive liberal movement is undoubtedly antisemitic (and having one Jew like Bernie does not cleanse this). The possibility that Mamdani could be the leader of the city with the largest Jewish population outside of Israel is shocking (and some liberal jews could help make that a reality). WAKE UP NEW YORK While strong “conservative” voices like Sid Rosenberg have made it a point on almost every show not to support Mamdani, he is viewed as a super conservative. The reality is Sid was a Democrat who was awake but really “woke up,” especially after October 7th and has been on a crusade to wake up all of New York, especially the liberal Jew which no one could understand how they proudly voted for Kamala. Mamdani’s bad ideas do not end with antisemitism. Mamdani runs on a platform of Affordability: He promises to freeze your rent. Sounds good - no rent increases. This was done before and was called “rent control”. Guess what happened. The rent is frozen, but every year the NYC real estate taxes go up, the wages and benefits of the unionized building employees go up, the cost of heating oil and natural gas goes up, the cost of electricity goes up, the cost of insurance goes up, the appliances get old, the pipes spring leaks, and the buildings take in less rent than it costs to run the building. Two things happen:
Either way the housing deteriorates and buildings are abandoned and fall apart. As a medical student I used to drive from my parent’s house in Queens to Flatbush Brooklyn where my medical school was located. I saw endless rows of buildings in various stages of decay. It looked as if this was a war zone and the buildings were mostly not intact. There was no war, just abandoned properties in what was once a working/middle class neighborhood. This is what freezing the rent does. On top of that - Mamdani promises “city-run” supermarkets - Gristedes CEO John Catsimatidis was willing to give Zohran Mamdani one of his stores to try out his municipal grocery experiment as long as the city would pay for shoplifting losses. If Mamdani is successful, all Gristedes will go. If you plan on staying in your neighborhood and living in your apartment, a vote for Mamdani will guarantee that you will be moving out. If you are a homeowner in a neighborhood with apartments, as the neighborhood goes downhill so will the value of your house. Don’t forget the Mamdani woke agenda is anti-police so don’t expect to be safe in his New York. Of course if you are a drug dealer, gang member or criminal he will make it easier for you to do business. When it all falls apart under a Mamdani administration you will need an exit plan. If Mamdani gets elected, the faster you leave the less you will loose. This is a re-branded socialist plan and we know it did not work in the Soviet Union. New Yorkers this is your last chance to say no to Mamdani Say no to Mamdani and yes to a New York with a bright future. DO NOT RANK MAMDANI The Goldstein Substack is free today.
