President Trump has approved billions of dollars in military aid to Israel in his short time in office, exceeding the already massive aid Israel receives from the US. Along with the killing of tens of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza over the past 20 months, Israel has used US-supplied weapons, bombs, training, and logistical support to perpetrate one of the most systematic destruction of housing in modern history. In turn, Israel’s current bombardment of Iran is completely reliant on US aid.
Trump’s threat to deepen US involvement in Israel's militarism and human rights violations come as his administration seeks a US military budget that would exceed $1 trillion– including provisions for expanded US military involvement in domestic immigration enforcement– as the White House and GOP cut billions of dollars in funding from vital federal food, healthcare, and housing programs.
Across the country, people are rising up against the Trump regime's–and its billionaire backers and beneficiaries–shameful and dangerous policies. All of this is situated amid ongoing crises and suffering shaped in large part by the United States’ disastrous “forever” wars in Afghanistan and Iraq launched a generation ago.
By acting against war, militarism, and genocide today, we avoid the deadly disasters of the past. And, we simultaneously strengthen our fights for economic and social priorities that represent the interests of the vast majority of working people and their families–whether it’s dignified employment, meaningful education, sustainable and affirming healthcare, empowering political participation, or homes for all.
