John, 2025 is almost halfway over. Have you been part of the fight to save our democracy so far this year? Because the other side — well, they’ve been hard at work. From trying to throw out votes to overturn an election they lost in North Carolina, to advancing excessively burdensome proof-of-citizenship voting laws in Congress and state legislatures — they are doing whatever it takes to undermine fair representation and fair elections in America. We can’t afford to play catch-up. So today I am personally asking you to do the one thing that can truly make the biggest impact in this fight: Start a monthly contribution to the NDR PAC to help us plan strategically for the long-term and be ready to respond whenever new threats arise. And if you prefer to make a one-time contribution, any amount you can chip in right now will help fund the hard work of protecting our democracy from those who want to break it. If this year has shown us anything, it’s that the best — and maybe the only — check on Trump’s power is us. And if we don’t fight him and his extremists, in every way we can, we will lose everywhere and our democracy will be unalterably damaged, if not destroyed. With the stakes so high, there’s no room to remain an onlooker. If we want to stop the rise of authoritarianism, we each must make the choice to take action. We can't wait for things to get worse or expect some cavalry to ride in and rescue our democracy — you and I, we are the cavalry. Remember — this is not over. We are still in control of our own destiny. We are the stewards of our democracy. And we still have it in our power to shape our country’s future.
