Dear Jack,
We almost never send emails on a Saturday—but what’s happening in Raleigh is urgent and too important to wait. ([link removed])
On Monday, the North Carolina Senate is expected to vote on HB 805, a strong pro-family, pro-parental rights bill that deserves the support of every Senator. Originally introduced as the “Prevent Sexual Exploitation of Women and Minors Act” (HB 805), this bill was designed to stop the online exploitation of women and children by requiring age and consent verification for all pornographic content.
Now, thanks to updates added by the Senate, HB 805 includes important protections for parental rights, educational transparency, and biological truth. It allows parents to opt their children out of classroom instruction or materials that conflict with their religious beliefs, while requiring schools to give advance notice and provide alternative assignments. It also brings greater transparency by requiring school districts to publish an online, searchable catalog of library books so parents can see what content is available to their children.
The bill also includes safeguards against harmful gender ideology. It prohibits taxpayer funding for gender-transition surgeries, puberty blockers, and cross-sex hormones for prison inmates. It gives adults harmed by such procedures a 10-year window to seek justice through malpractice claims. And it affirms a basic biological reality: there are only two sexes—male and female—and that truth should be recognized in North Carolina’s laws and public records.
The vote is expected Monday—will you take 30 seconds of your Saturday today to contact your Senator using our easy click-to-contact tool, and ask them to vote YES on HB 805? ([link removed])
Our hope is that they’ll have an inbox full of your messages by Monday morning. Help us make it happen.
