Asia Pacific
Praise God for the successful rescue of five children from online sexual exploitation in the Philippines and the arrest of three suspected traffickers, including those closest to the victims. Pray for deep healing and restoration for the rescued minors, and for continued strength and wisdom for the authorities and our IJM team as they fight to protect vulnerable children and bring justice to those exploited.
Africa & Europe
We are deeply saddened and outraged by the death of Albert Ojwang while in police custody in Nairobi, Kenya. Praise God for the swift action taken by Kenyan authorities to suspend officers and initiate an independent investigation into his death. We pray for comfort and justice for Albert’s family, and for our partners as they work tirelessly to uncover the truth and pursue accountability in cases of police abuse of power.
Latin America
Praise God for the training of 31 community leaders in Peru. With support from IJM, these women completed a three-day course provided by the Superior Justice Court in Ucayali. They are now better equipped to support women and children who have experienced physical or sexual violence. As judicial advisors, they will accompany victims to public justice institutions and other community services, helping them access the care they need. Pray that God will work through these advisors to bring protection to the women and children who need it most.
South Asia
Pray for the upcoming renewal of our memorandum of understanding (MOU) with law enforcement in a strategic state where we’re working. This MOU guides our partnership to train local police, identify cases of bondage and bring victims to safety in a sensitive manner. We have been so encouraged by these law enforcement partners and look forward to deepening this partnership in new ways. Pray for creativity and rigor as we envision the next year together and sign this important agreement.
