There are a lot of really, really bad policies hidden in the GOP’s budget bill scam.

We’ve talked about the cuts to Medicaid, food assistance, clean energy projects, and more. We’ve talked about the huge giveaways to billionaires and mega-corporations.

But one huge consequence has been underdiscussed — this bill would cause a full-on crisis for rural healthcare services.

You see, the $800 billion cut to Medicaid wouldn’t just kick millions off their healthcare plans. It would also take crucial revenue away from rural and small hospitals in Massachusetts and across the country that millions of Americans rely on — often as their only option to access health care.

One analysis shows that these cuts could cost Massachusetts's healthcare system $1.75 billion in lost revenue, affecting more than 250,000 people. Nationwide, more than 300 rural hospitals could close or see service reductions. That includes 33 hospitals in Louisiana, Speaker Mike Johnson’s home state.

We have a responsibility to block the bill and protect rural America.

Ed is continuing to do everything he can in the Senate to pressure his colleagues to stop this disaster of a budget bill from ever reaching Trump’s desk. And only a few more “no” votes are needed to make it happen.

But Ed needs the continued support of our grassroots movement if he is going to stay in the fight and show that Americans will not stand for cuts to the healthcare they need.
