Dear National Park Advocate,
Park advocates like you just won a major victory -- and now national
parks are one step closer to getting the care they need and deserve.
In an overwhelming, bipartisan vote, the U.S. Senate just passed a
bill to address backlogged park repairs and permanently fund the
successful Land and Water Conservation Fund. Now leaders like
your U.S. representative need to pass
the same bill through the House of Representatives so parks -- and
park communities -- can finally get the relief they need.
Tell your U.S. representative that you
want them to do everything they can to pass the Great American
Outdoors Act right away!

Parks and gateway communities are suffering through hard times... but
shovel-ready projects to fix national parks could bring much-needed
support to local economies that rely on outdoor recreation and
tourism. That's one of the reasons the Senate has already passed this
bipartisan bill -- and one of the reasons it's so important for park
advocates to keep speaking out until the job is done.
National parks face at least $11.9 billion in backlogged repairs --
that's everything from trail maintenance to visitor center repairs to
replacing old and unsafe electrical wiring.
Not only is the Great American Outdoors Act a big step in tackling
parks' maintenance needs, it would also provide crucial funding for
the Land And Water Conservation Fund -- one of the most successful
conservation programs ever.
Friend, this week's victory was a big step, and it wouldn't
have been possible without park champions and advocates like you. For
15 years, we've all worked together to push leaders in Washington to
get serious about park repairs. NPCA, along with our friends and
allies have held thousands of meetings with legislators, we've made
their phones ring off their hooks and we've filled their inboxes and
newspapers with messages of support for national parks.
That work paid off in a big way this week. Now's the time to make sure
the House of Representatives finishes the job.
Tell your U.S. representative to
support America's national parks by passing the Great American
Outdoors Act!
