Friends,
"We will not sit idly by."
- Jerry Nadler (NY-10)
I’m proud to stand by the House Judiciary Committee Chairman and his fellow committee members in his demand to take action on the national epidemic of gun violence.
The House Judiciary Committee is cutting recess short and reconvening on September 4th to review three new bills that address gun violence, including a bill that outlaws large-capacity magazines and other mass ammunition feeding devices.
And what’s the Senate been up to? Mitch McConnell is still sitting on the House-passed, bipartisan bill that expands background checks.
My House colleagues and I will continue to fight for legislation to address gun violence, but we can’t get Mitch McConnell to move on bringing this life-saving bill to the floor without your help.
McConnell needs to feel the public pressure to act, or he’ll continue to sit on this legislation.
So, friend, can you add your name to my petition to demand Mitch McConnell allow a vote on the House-passed bill to expand background checks?
Thank you,
Linda Sánchez
