I seem to
have struck a nerve with the Trump Administration and their far-right,
MAGA allies (again). I’d name check them but you know that’s what they’re
after. 

There’s something about taking up space in the halls of power as an
unapologetic, bald Black woman that really gets under their skin –
probably because I’m not letting their BS go unchecked.

It’s because I’m speaking out against ICE terrorizing our communities.

I’m supporting peaceful protestors and not falling for their fascist
propaganda.

I’m naming Trump’s travel ban on countries like Haiti for what it is:
anti-Black racism.

I’m not afraid to say that the Trump Administration deploying the national
guard against peaceful protestors in Los Angeles is authoritarianism.

Their tired playbook is the same as it’s always been. Racist dogwhistles
and thinly veiled threats.

Look, I’ve had to sit across from Trump’s MAGA acolytes in committee
hearings for years. So this is just another day at the office. Degrading,
racist tweets about my alopecia and my IQ just show how much they’re
grasping at straws. No one occupying the White House or peddling
disinformation on right-wing Twitter will keep me from calling a thing a
thing.

Trump’s extremist march towards fascism is as dangerous as it is deeply
unpopular. I refuse to fall in line. Not when people in our communities
are being disappeared by ICE. Not when my own colleagues are being taken
away in handcuffs for doing their jobs. Not when this administration is
hellbent on stripping away our constitutional rights to free speech and
peaceful protest.
