The climate crisis and its impacts aren’t slowing down, which means that protecting our last remaining forestlands has never been more urgent. As a longtime proponent of preserving our public lands, I’m reupping the fight to make Roadless Rule protections permanent, an issue I have been championing for over two decades.

The roadless rule is so important because it shields almost 60 million acres of America's last remaining wild forest lands from roadbuilding and logging. Those amazing untouched areas of our National Forests, owned by all Americans, that still don't have any roads punched through them yet.

Senate Republicans have a different idea for these lands – their latest proposal calls for selling off more than 250 million acres of public lands, including over 5 million acres here in Washington.

I’m committed to protecting our pristine and treasured forestlands with regulations like the Roadless Rule. Let me know where you stand in this fight:

From outdoor recreation and tourism, to clean air and drinking water, habitat for endangered species and more, public lands provide countless benefits to Washingtonians and Americans everywhere – and we must preserve them for future generations.

Thanks for taking action,

Maria
