Email from Rep. Van Duyne I Introduced Legislation to ensure that federal programs serve those who contribute to, rather than destroy, our communities. Irving, TX – Saturday, we celebrated the 250th Birthday of the United States Army. We thank the brave men and women who serve our great nation, we thank you for your service and unwavering commitment. Saturday was also Flag Day, the American flag is one of the greatest symbols of our country and for freedom. This weekend we had our Service Academy Potluck Breakfast to celebrate the newly appointed cadets and midshipmen from Texas-24 to the United States Military Academies. They are a bright group of young men and women eager to serve our country and represent North Texas. This week, I signed a letter to encourage the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to use its authorities provided by the Animal Health Protection Act (AHPA) to build and operate a domestic sterile fly facility to combat and eradicate New World Screwworm (NWS). I had the chance to tour Polymershapes at their Dallas facility, a distributor of plastic sheet, rod, tube, film, and related products. We discussed the future of American manufacturing, their innovations and investments in advanced recycling, and my work on the Ways and Means Committee, including highlights from the One Big Beautiful Bill. Had the chance to join the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce for lunch and a discussion, where I shared updates on my work in Washington representing Texas-24. We discussed my work on the Small Business Committee to reduce burdensome regulations for our North Texas small businesses. In response to the recent violent riots in LA, I have introduced the Stop Funding Rioters Act. Taxpayer dollars should never be used to support individuals who violently attack law enforcement or destroy the livelihoods of hard-working Americans. Read more about it in my Work of the Week.
