Thank you so much for all your wonderful birthday wishes. It meant a lot to hear from you all yesterday.

Today isn’t just my birthday, though, it is also Juneteenth. For my birthday, I’m asking you to support the NAACP, Black Lives Matter Action Fund, and the Southern Poverty Law Center today with a contribution of $25.

Juneteenth is a 155-year-old holiday celebrating the emancipation of African Americans from slavery in the United States. This date is important every year, but especially now, in the wake of the murder of George Floyd and a nationwide galvanization of the Black Lives Matter movement.

That’s why I want you to join me in supporting these organizations, Jack. We must build on the momentum we have right now to enact real change.

Along with demanding accountability from our leaders and having difficult conversations with family and friends, we should all do what we can to support the organizations doing critical work in our communities to achieve justice and equity by chipping in $25 or whatever is meaningful to you right now.
